Preston-based logistics specialist grows sales team

A leading UK transport and third-party logistics specialist has continued to expand its Preston-based team with the appointment of a new commercial manager and sales executive.

Richard Preston and Robert Booth join Montgomery Distribution, a member of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network. Richard, the company’s new commercial manager, will lead his team in facilitating business growth and strengthening relationships with existing customers while Robert, Montgomery’s newly appointed sales executive, will be working to grow new business opportunities and support the current customer base.

Commenting on the appointment, Montgomery Distribution’s general manager, Steven McBride said: “We are very happy to welcome both Richard and Robert to our team. Richard brings an outstanding record of achievement in sales and logistics expertise in UK, European and Irish supply-chain.

Since Montgomery Distribution was founded in 1970 with just one tractor unit, the business has continued to grow into one of the largest privately-owned transport companies in the UK and Ireland, now operating from multiple sites with a fleet of more than 250 vehicles and 900 trailers. The company became a member of Palletways upon the launch of its pallet distribution division in 2002.
